Statehood Hawaii CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS Statehood Hawaii in collaboration with Christine Thomas (www.LiteraryLotus.com) invites original submissions of personal essay reflections about Hawaii's territorial or statehood years, or contemporary perspectives about statehood for possible inclusion in an upcoming commemorative anthology. Short essays or stories of no more than 1000 words per submission are welcome. We will also be looking at forum threads and publish with permission if appropriate. At the 50th anniversary of Hawai’i statehood, multiple perspectives about the past half-century emerge, mixing the controversial with the nostalgic. Statehood Hawaii and fifidififdi seek to present all views giving the public an opportunity to share their perspectives and experiences online. - Kupuna stories and recollections The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2009. If your contribution of original work is accepted—either in full or in an abridged version—you will receive a consent-to-publish form for your approval and a short biography request, or will contact you for permission. No work will be published without consent. E-mail submissions as Word documents or PDF attachments to:info@statehoodhawaii.org or simply submit content online to fifdififdi.com and we will contact you if your submission is appropriate. Many thanks for your interest in this project, and feel free to contact us with any questions or with leads to pre-existing material of which we may not be aware. Mahalo nui, |
