What is reality, what is the truth? Let me tell you about this place. If you look at it this is just a cemetery but this is a actually Uluhaimalama. This place is the scene of stupendous battles. There was the battle of Maui and Hawaii, took place over here, we had Papakolea over there, we have Auwaiolimu, that's where King Kahekili of Maui was. We had Pauoa and Nuuanu, that's where King Kahahanoahu was. There was a tremendous battle here, a lot of people died. They said that little stream was plugged up with bodies. And it was the first battle of Kapanewai, before the battle in E'au Valley. This is also the gardens of Queen Lili'uokalani. It was the symbol of resistance to the American takeover. It was given to the government of Hawaii when Lili'uokalani died. She loved children. Her intent was to turn this into a playground. And what happened? The government claiming poverty, said they couldn't do it, and they auctioned this place off to be what it is now, a cemetery. So what is reality? Is this just a cemetery that a couple years ago was abandoned and weeds higher than my head growing in this place? Or is this Uluhaimalama, the garden of the Queen? You tell me which it is, and I'll tell you what my perception is. This is more than just an abandoned cemetery, and incidentally, thank you to... who were the ones who actually come in here and take care of this place.
